Solar Energy Coming to CoM in 2027!

Bringing Financial Stability and Huge Cost Savings
September 29, 2026

Exciting news! CoM is moving forward with rooftop solar in 2027 to address rising utility costs, strengthen financial resilience, and invest in cleaner, locally produced energy.

The Solar Project is a long-term investment in the congregation’s financial stability, environmental responsibility, and future resilience. In June 2026, the Oversight Board approved the purchase and installation of a rooftop solar system as a practical response to rising and unpredictable electricity costs.

By moving forward when it did, CoM was also able to take advantage of Investment Tax Credits available through the Inflation Reduction Act. The Investment Tax Credit is expected to save approximately $40,000 in purchase and implementation costs. Fundraising is underway now to cover the rest of the expense, with early donations having raised about one-third of the project cost.

You can read more about the project on this page of the CoM website.

We hope that all members will choose to support this exciting, forward-looking project. Please watch for more details in the coming months.
